What are the vision and values of Alliance Homes?
VISION
Alliance Homes is about people and where they live. We are passionate about delivering outstanding customer service, transforming local communities and inspiring individuals to develop their potential
MISSION
We work together with our tenants, customers and other like minded organisations to create stronger communities, better homes and a smarter business. We build strong partnerships, offer practical support and innovative solutions.
VALUES
Our values reflect how we choose to work and they determine the behaviours our customers and partner organisations can expect from us. This supports our vision for outstanding customer service.
Respect – to listen and respond to individual needs and treat people fairly
Integrity – to be reliable, open, honest and transparent; doing what we say we will do, taking responsibility
Transformation – inspiring individuals and communities, applying innovative solutions
Excellence – aspiring to be the best in all we do.
We recognise three key strands to our work and we link these to help us achieve our vision. In order to provide a framework for our work we set key objectives for these strands of “stronger communities, better homes and smarter business”.
Strategic Objectives
-
Stronger Communuities = Improving the lives of tenants and residents to make their communities better places to live
-
Better Homes = Providing and maintaining decent homes to meet current and future needs
-
Smarter Business = Provide value for money in the delivery of our services
Our work to deliver stronger communities is focused on people; how we support them and help make their communities better places to live. Often, this will include working in partnership with other agencies. It also includes
-
Housing management that supports our tenants and keeps homes filled
-
Empowering communities to engage in planning and decisions
-
Respecting the diversity of the people and communities we work with
-
Providing or securing individual support and care to people who need it
Our targets for better homes take account of the needs of communities for the provision of homes to rent, and for the continued maintenance and improvement of existing homes. Increasingly, we are seeking energy efficient solutions to reduce costs for residents. This work includes:
-
Delivering an effective repairs and maintenance service
-
Ensuring our property assets contribute to a pleasant living environment
-
Providing new homes for rent to meet identifiable need
-
Property management that maintains the asset value of our homes
-
Reducing the carbon footprint of our business
Our desire to achieve smarter business focuses on finding the best way to deliver all of our plans for stronger communities and better homes. Alliance Homes seeks to achieve value for money in all it does. We will plan our use of resources and measure our performance to test and check effectiveness. We are committed to employing and developing the right people to achieve our objectives. We encourage our customers to help us to make the best choices and to be the best at all we do.
Who runs Alliance Homes
Our day-to-day operations are managed by the Chief Executive, Clive Bodley, and his Executive Team, who report to the Board, led by Chris Perry. We operate throughout North Somerset from offices located in Portishead and Weston-super-Mare.
Alliance Homes is run by a Board of 12 voluntary board members, five of whom are residents, two are North Somerset council nominees and the remaining five are independent members with specialist knowledge, skills and experience. There is also one leasehold co-optee.
The Board is supported by a management team consisting of the Chief Executive and four executive directors. The Board meets four times a year. There are five Board committees which help run the organisation. These are: Resources Committee, Audit Committee, Customer Services Committee, Policy Working Group and the Review Panel (reviewing customer complaints).
All Board members are unpaid volunteers, being reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses only.
Where does Alliance Homes operate?
We operate in the North Somerset area, which is located in the West Country on the M5 corridor. The area extends from the edge of Bristol and the river Avon in the north, to the river Axe and the Mendip Hills in the south. Our corporate and Property Care headquarters are based in Portishead and we have two small bases in Weston-super-Mare, one of which is a community information centre, which is jointly run with North Somerset Credit Union and Westonworks.
